I teach computer science at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia, USA, and I am the Chief Reader for the AP Computer Science program. I first typed in a program from a magazine in the mid-80s and was writing my own programs (in Applesoft BASIC!) soon after that; I would date my entrance to hackerdom to around 1990, when I first started using SunOS and accessing the internet.
